John S. Vendeland
Partner
John has >20 years of experience in project management, market assessment, and strategy development. As an independent consultant, he has worked on hundreds of projects with leading companies on strategic and financial issues across a broad range of crop and agricultural input markets. His experience includes all phases of the value chain from research and development to final retail. He has a strong background in crop protection, seeds and seed technology, fertilizers, cereals, produce marketing and tropical production systems. Previously, he was the VP of Marketing & Business Development for a leading seed enhancement company and the Director of Diversified Agriculture for a major Hawaiian agribusiness.
John received a B.S. in Biology from Stanford University, an M.S. in Agronomy from Cornell University, and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
Greg S. Faust
Partner
Greg Faust has over 20 years of experience in the Crop Protection industry. He has served in various sales, product and strategic management positions with Syngenta and its legacy companies, and has been an active partner with Cirrus Partners for the past 9 years. He has extensive experience in row crops, fruit & vegetables and the professional & consumer markets including turf, ornamentals, lawn & garden, pest control and materials protection both at the manufacturer level and throughout the value chain. Greg specializes in market analysis, strategy development including writing and testing highly practical and detailed marketing plans and works closely with clients through implementation.
Greg received his B.S. in Agricultural Business from the University of Minnesota.
Steve Savage
Partner
Steve has >20 years of experience in the technical aspects of agriculture including biotechnology, crop protection chemicals, biological control and viticulture. He worked in a variety of research and development roles at Colorado State University, Du Pont and Mycogen before becoming an independent consultant in 1996. Since that time he has participated in and led proprietary consulting projects evaluating technologies and their strategic market ramifications throughout the value chain. Steve specializes in the analysis of value creation, emerging technology, data analysis, the patent literature and the carbon footprint of agriculture.
Steve received his B.S. in Biology from Stanford University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Davis
